The Oasis Foundation of America (OFA) is the nation’s only philanthropy whose singular mission is community-based disaster readiness and response. Founded to fill an important void, OFA serves not only as a funding stream, but also as a convener and facilitator. The Oasis Foundation exists to empower communities through capacity-building, access to vital resources, and by providing the necessary tools needed to be ready for any type of disaster.
Working in tandem with relevant players from the government, non-profit, faith-based and business sectors at the national, regional, state and local levels the Oasis Foundation endeavors to address readiness and response by serving the role of facilitator. OFA builds consensus, heightens cooperation and thus improve effectiveness. OFA offers support programs that provide information networks, funds and materials to local communities.
The Oasis Foundation of America offers the business sector the opportunity to support community-based disaster readiness through our Helping Hand Initiative (Corporate Sponsorships). Companies are offered a trusted and experienced vehicle through which they can make tax-deductible contributions, offer bulk discounted pricing, donate materials, supplies and talent.
OFA works diligently to see that all gifts, whether in dollars, products or volunteerism is administered both prudently and effectively. Companies who participate in the Helping Hand program are acknowledged through a well defined high-profile campaign, designed to draw positive attention to the goodwill and important contribution they have made. Similar programs are offered for groups and individuals who recognize the importance of community-based readiness.
The goal of the Oasis Foundation of America is to identify critical voids in the disaster readiness and response delivery mecthanism.
Then, OFA develops and delivers programs and resources to fill those voids.
By working closely with each local emergency management, OFA resources and programs will be implemented as an integrated and complimentary component of overall community emergency readiness and response plans.
